The Anti-Hellenic Dictatorship of Nikola Gruevski in FYROM (2006-2017) Ended ΚΥΒΕΡΝΗΣΗ ΣΟΣΙΑΛΙΣΤΩΝ -ΑΛΒΑΝΩΝ ΣΤΑ ΣΚΟΠΙΑ;

After the four years long constitutional crisis in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), a major event took place today that marks a turn in political power in Skopje which is quite relevant for Greece. After failure by the political party that ruled for almost 11 years (since 2006) to make a coalition with Albanian political party DUI, DUI and other minor Albanian party agreed to change its political partner from the Slavic parties (far right VMRO-DPMNE and social-democrat leftist SDSM).

Namely, after long deliberation, DUI decided to offer official support to SDSM. In light of wiretapping scandal revealed by SDSM which showed use of fascist and other vulgar Anti-Albanian language by VMRO-DPMNE officials, as well due to fatigue from Nikola Gruevski's megalomaniac policies based on FYROM's identification with Macedonia of classical antiquity (which is refused by all non-Slavs as well as many "Macedonians" which identify with Serbian, Bulgarian or generic Slavic ethnic heritage), this decision of DUI marks a new era in FYROM's politics. The new Prime Minister, likely to be given mandate in less than three weeks is Zoran Zaev (1975), a businessmen from Strumica, who, together with a number of intellectuals in the core of SDSM, pledged to halt the policy of "antiquization" which was systemically;lly carried by (now former) PM Nikola Gruevski trhrough media, education and publication of pseudo-scholarly material. SDSM pledged to dismantle statues and other objects in FYROM devoted to ancient Macedonian history and created by Gruevski.

SDSM also pledged devotion to fast-paced negotiation with Greece on the name issue and can be considered as a party which shall be more flexible in the negotiation process.
